The Canada Caregiver Visa offers a direct route to becoming part of a Canadian family, without the need for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
It has simple eligibility requirements and allows you to apply for both a work permit and permanent residency at the same time.
Processing times are typically between 6 to 8 months, making it a straightforward and efficient way to start your caregiving career in Canada.

Who Can Apply?

  • The HSWP caters to various caregiving professionals under the NOC TEER Code 44101HSWP, including:
  • Family caregivers
  • Housekeepers
  • Home support workers
  • Attendants for individuals with disabilities
  • Live-in caregivers for elderly people
  • Personal care attendants
  • Personal helpers

Eligibility Criteria

  • To qualify for the Home Support Worker Pilot, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
  • Complete at least one year of post-secondary education, whether within Canada or abroad.
  • Achieve a minimum score of CLB 5 in an English language proficiency test.
  • Have at least one year of work experience under NOC TEER Code 44101.
  • Secure a valid job offer from within Canada.
  • Important Note: The HSWP has an annual cap, accepting only 2,750 applications each year. The program is set to welcome new applications starting January 1, 2023.
